If by now, you do not know how addicted I am to coffee, then, it’s one it two things: either you are not following me on Instagram or you’re just playing with me. So tell me, which is it? My Instagram family knows how much coffee means to me. We even went to the Maldives together guys! I made a video of my trip.
So if you haven’t seen it, I’m going to leave a link here for you Maldives vlog (One of the reasons why you should follow me Instagram. If you haven’t, here’s a link for you as well: Mimie Jay)
Back to coffee now, shall we? Coffee is one thing I can not take. In fact, I think I might have influenced a couple of people and they’ve started drinking coffee as well. That aside, In this article, I’m going to be sharing with you guys why coffee is ideal for me and the health benefits of coffee.
Types Of Coffee
There are about 30 different types of coffee in the world. In fact, there are so many types that you probably won’t get to taste them all in one lifetime. So I’m just going to be mentioning the most popular ones.
-
Black coffee
This is just a combination of water and coffee without any milk. You can guess this isn’t my favourite at all. As to my favourite, we’re getting there.
-
Espresso
I like Espresso but I wouldn’t call it my favourite. Espresso is popular in Italy. It is usually thick and has a high level of caffeine and then it always has a creamy foam on top. It serves as a base for most types of coffee.
-
Cappuccino
Yessssss!!! This! This one right here is an all-time favourite for me. Cappuccino is possibly the most popular type of coffee in the world and consists of equal parts of espresso, steamed and milk froth. Actually, cappuccino contains ⅓ of espresso, ⅓ foamed milk, and ⅓ steamed milk. You can serve it iced, hot, and also with cream instead of milk. Do you like yours with cream or milk? I like mine with milk. Let me know my geng geng in the comments below.
-
Latte
A latte contains a lot of milk! It is generally said to have the milkiest aroma out of all milk-based coffees.
-
Instant coffee
We probably all know this one. Instant coffee is coffee that has had all its water removed, leaving behind the soluble coffee flavour.
When Should You Drink Coffee?
Some people or maybe most, say or think there is no ideal time for when you should drink coffee but according to research (and Mimie), you should have your first cup of coffee about 4 hours after you wake up. Most of us reach for a cup of coffee immediately when we get out of bed and it shouldn’t be because you are naturally alert when you wake up (even though we might not actually feel that way).
Why Should You Drink Coffee?
Like I said before, almost everybody around me has started drinking coffee (call me an influencer) and that was one of the things that brought about this article. I have decided to extend my hand of generosity to you guys. There are so many reasons as to why coffee should be included in your daily meal plan.
So if you’ve never seen the need to take coffee, here’s why you should start:
1. It will “extend your lifespan”
Unbelievable yeah? As weird as it seems, taking coffee every day will increase your lifespan and help you live longer. Coffee drinkers are less likely to contract so many diseases. Diseases such as cancer, type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s Disease, and Dementia, and even cancer.
2. It helps to improve energy levels
Coffee contains a stimulant called caffeine. After you drink coffee, the caffeine is absorbed into your bloodstream which then travels to your brain. Long story short, it improves your energy levels and puts you in a good mood.
In fact, research has shown that if you have coffee before a conversation, it will actually make you feel better and focus better on the people you’re talking to.
3. It can help burn fat
Caffeine is found in almost every commercial fat burning supplement. It is one of the few natural substances that’s proven to aid fat burning and boost metabolic rate.
4. Coffee fights depression and makes you happier.
It appears to lower your risk of developing depression and may therefore reduce suicide risk. If you know someone that appears to be depressed, give them a cup of coffee today! You might be preventing suicide.
I can never mention all the things coffee can do for you. Call me a coffee addict, it’s totally worth it.
All in all, coffee shouldn’t be taken too much.
There are side effects of taking too much caffeine and they include:
- Anxiety: Because caffeine increases alertness, at higher doses, it can cause anxiety and nervousness.
- Insomnia: Too much caffeine decreases your total sleeping time.
- Fatigue: Caffeine is known to boost energy levels but when it leaves your system, it can also have the effect of causing fatigue.
All these are only possible if you drink too much coffee.
Now tell me, are you a coffee person? If you are a coffee person, let me know your type of coffee in the comments below.
Thank you so much for reading to the end.
Do not hesitate to share this article with your friends as well.
See you in my next post.

Mimie Jay.
