The most important rule to achieve a perfect makeup look is blending. I can’t emphasize this enough. Blending is the cardinal rule of makeup as it makes the experts stand out in a gathering. The art of blending makeup is a rigorous process that involves the use of different skills and tools.
The blending of the foundation would be different from that of an eyeshadow, therefore; people who wish to learn the skill of blending should have command over every aspect of makeup.
Need to mention that one of the factors that contribute to your flawless application of makeup is/are the tools you use, there’s a detailed post for different makeup brushes and how to use them effectively that you should check out.
4 Ways To Blend Your Makeup Like A Pro
The most crucial part in achieving any look is blending, as a “cakey” foundation and visible blush lines look less appealing. The trick to blending your makeup perfectly involves different skills for different areas of your face. The most important ones are mentioned below:
1. The first and foremost step in applying makeup on your skin is to prepare the canvas. Moisturize and apply primer on your skin for the smooth application of your foundation. Use a sponge like a beauty blender to apply foundation that suits your skin tone. The blending should start from the centre and gradually make your way out to other areas of your face. Dabbing should be done for smooth and soft application. In order to make your complexion look realistic, apply foundation on your neck as well.
2. Blending eyeshadow is the most difficult part as it involves a lot of patience and determination in achieving the perfect look. The most important rule in eyeshadow blending is that it should be done with a different brush. Eyeshadow should be blended with a different brush as blending with the same brush means that more eyeshadow is applied. It can give off a very messy look. I wrote an article on how to apply eyeshadow like a pro, you should check it out.
3. Bronzer should be applied in a sweeping direction and never in straight lines. Straight lines look very harsh especially if they are applied on the cheekbones or near the jawline.
4. Always apply the blush on the apple of your cheek while smiling. It should be applied in a sweeping or a circular direction to avoid any harsh lines on the cheekbones. The medium-sized brush should be used to apply blush on in a precise manner.
Just like an artist cannot overdo a painting or a piece of art, similarly, a makeup artist cannot overdo while applying makeup. Less and perfectly blended makeup can help people achieve the very famous “no makeup look”.
